Being a #bookeditor isn't all fun and reading books. Sometimes you have to do homework, like reminding yourself how @ChicagoManual treats serial commas. Lucikly, they have a quiz for that!
It’s the end of an era. I’ve had an account at the @theabqlibrary my entire life but now we’ve all moved away. Tears have been shed on this day. I grew up in the library and am so grateful for them! #library
It's taken some time, but I've finally finished my @PTCBookHouse courses! I must thank @Rob_Worth & @katenascimedits for their support. They listened to me talk about needing to complete the courses for too long to mention. I wouldn't have made it without their help! Thank you!!
First day back at my desk after the @histnovsoc UK 2024 conference. (Everyone knows you have to take Monday off, right?) Feeling inspired and eager to put words on the page again! #HistoricalFiction#HistFic
With a heavy heart I leave the #HNSConference2024. What an outrageous weekend packed full of fun, wonderful people, books, ideas, talks and inspiration.
With all this energy, returning to the real world (train delays, no coffee trolley and a lonely desk) is a tad easier.
My SO and I both work from home, and it’s rarely a problem. Today, however, he seems to be on a call with Darth Vader and I Can. Not. Concentrate. I’m in awe of this man’s voice.
I have checked out Jane Austen at Home from the library a half a dozen times. It's one of the best Jane Austen-related resources I've found! But I'm going to give in now and buy the special new revised edition!
I'm tickled pink that on 26 September my book JANE AUSTEN AT HOME is coming out in a special new revised edition, ready for Jane's 250th birthday next year! You can pre-order it here 😃

Historical research! What resources do we use for our own novels? @rock_swords@MatthewHarffy@SA_McKay
Researching is a huge part of a historical fiction author's life. In this episode we discuss what we use to embed ourselves in... https://t.co/7GDSt8jz47
I've just seen this from @TLCUK! What an exciting, useful session! I'm dismayed because, for the first time in years, I won't be at @The_CIEP conference in person in Birmingham because I'll be at the @histnovsoc conference in Devon. Thank goodness for online conference options!
We are delighted to be presenting a special 90-minute version of our Ethical Editing training (which we currently run for UK publishers) at this year's @The_CIEP Conference in #Birmingham. The programme is packed full of valuable sessions for editors: https://t.co/w0uC46uC3P
Very excited to have a ticket tomorrow’s event by @_TheFLIP! Who’s going? I’d love to make a few new friends *before* showing up and having to stand awkwardly alone by the snack table. Help a girl out! 🙏
I miss the days when #BookTwitter was a majority positive, supportive space. So if I can help with anything, let me know. I'm an author @panmacmillan, editor @TheBookseller, run #FutureBook & @BigBookWeekend, & I mentor/edit writers. Background: tech & marketing. My door is open
Please join me in celebrating my new release on this first day of spring! https://t.co/v0qtFqQiBr The Woodland Stranger features an awkward human hero and a charming fairy slowly falling in love in a #cozyfantasy forest #TheWoodlandStranger
I completely agree! I wish they’d rename it OR we start another book fair that’s exactly like the Scholastic fairs from school. Such joy. Those might be my best primary school memories.
I always think a) this should be made clear on the LBF site and b) London Book Fair should be renamed something more business-y because it always makes me think of those incredible Scholastic book fairs you'd get at school.
