I grew up during Jim Crow. It’s amazing that since the 1960s, the Democratic Party still refuses to accept a simple fact about Black Americans: that, like every other race in this country, we are smart enough to register to vote. There is nothing more demeaning than this racist view of my race. THIS is why I left the Democratic Party 40 years ago and will never, ever go back.

The number of entering students needing remedial math has exploded from 1/100 to 1/8.

They’ve had to create a second remedial class covering elementary and middle school math skills in addition to the one covering gaps from high school.
