@LiviaChanL@gcouros@JanetChowMSc@janice_nakatsu@burnabyschools Awesome Liv! You are an inspiring leader for growth and change and you do it with such kindness. But don't be fooled everyone. She makes it looks easy, but this kid works hard! 😁 Congrats, my friend.
Theatre Production created a PSA around the idea of technology being a positive part of learning, especially today. With info from the whole staff about how tech can be used, this is what they put together.

After being inspired by the great work our teachers have done with their classroom blogs, I used an environmental art activity I saw on one of their sites with my girls this evening. A gentle reminder that there is beauty and diversity in colour.

When I was a kid my mom made an alphabet and number chart and put it in the living room. I always remembered looking at and seeing the patterns connected to numbers and shapes. I helped the girls make this one this week. A little piece of my mom, my first and greatest teacher.
Using biodegradable filament, the 3D printers bring ideas to life! Design can be in anything we see. (even breakfast 😊). Once Ss have the domain of knowledge to create, their entry point can be math, science or art. Then adapting as they go. Looking forward to your session.
Learning #3Dmodelling requires some #patience & #perseverance, so thank goodness for the easy-to-follow @tinkercad tutorials! Looking forward to our upcoming 3D modelling workshop next week. Info in #burnabyschools staff development calendar 🗓
How do you keep this Minecraft activity going at Second Street Elementary? We added 3 power blocks to our coding laptop kits so groups can plug in and noone skips a beat...or should I say block! 😉
3 blks of gr. 8s @BbyMountainSec with @mrsvangelista today took a virtual field trip to explore medieval castles, ruins and virtual settings. We were able to cast the VR experience to the screen, spend time exploring, have Ss record their findings and then blog their reflections.
All day Micro:bit coding @burnabyschools Gilmore today led by Amanda Coutts. Great to see students collaborating, learning file management, and regulating behaviour using our coder laptops and MB kits. A nice wrap up to activity with core comp. conversation.
