Summer time means more time for beading and biking! Here is a project I’ve been working on for awhile: a #kaleidocycle.
~ 3700+ beads
~ 30ish hours of work.

Great way to start my day with @thierck at the #MyPITA conference. Always a good reminder that relationship is the antidote to stress—which goes for students AND colleagues. Building in routines to connect is vital for a healthy community. #PSADay2024
Today sts worked together to make “situpons.” These will be especially helpful for our outdoor gardening sessions! They’re woven mats made out of newspaper, and covered with a plastic bag to make them waterproof(ish). #Teamwork#ProblemSolving@uhe_sd41@burnabyschools
@mschivious@uhe_sd41@burnabyschools Exactly! I still have my first situpon from Brownies that I show to the students when I introduce the activity. Our situpons now are smaller, though, since the newspapers have shrunken since the 80s!
Jeremy from @GutsandSeeds just dropped off this great hawk-o-lantern at @uhe_sd41! We love it, and the upper intermediates are looking forward to their carving sessions. @burnabyschools
I never would’ve thought that playdough/kinetic sand would be one of the most popular quiet activity choices with my 6/7s. I think sometimes we forget they’re still children who need opportunities for tactile exploration (even if some of them are almost 6’ tall!) #SelfReg
@antrimtech@instructables Check out @kate__said and “The Contemporary Geometric Beadwork Pattern Book v.1” for this design. There were many helpful videos on YouTube, too! https://t.co/7ysu6jA7ps

Inclusion is critical for science to move forward in meaningful ways. Join us as we explore how science, technology, engineering, and math were used by the Ojibwe people in the early period and how they continue to advance the fields of STEM today.

Since I read this piece by @kenoc7 in @ELmagazine I CAN'T stop hearing WORK, WORK, WORK in my school! There's a lot to this folks...maybe our 'work' terminology is behind some of our questionable grading traditions (zeros, late deductions, etc).
