One of my proudest memories of me and my grandmother was me wheeling her up in her wheelchair to the voting booth to cast her vote for #BarackObama. She was born in 1931, and she was proud of her vote, her choice, and a dream being fulfilled in her lifetime. #hope@BarackObama

So much of my storyโand Barack'sโruns through the South Side of Chicago. We had so much fun going down memory lane with @People, sharing moments from the decades we've spent together, the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, and the work we still have left to do in our next chapter. We hope you'll check out the interview: https://t.co/N7HgrjrQRj
Initially, there was a 100% chance of heavy rain predicted for Juneteenth, yet the skies remained clear, allowing for a beautiful day of celebration. All praise to the Most High! ๐๐พ

Former President Obama, the wife, Michelle along with Njideka Akunyili Crosby - a Nigerian born artist and daughter of Dora Akunyili - unveiling a portrait of the Obamas at the Obama Presidential Center. The unveiling anticipates Junteenth, celebrating the liberation of Blacks.
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby โ a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist โ to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and weโre thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.
Barack and I were so honored to have @AkunyiliCrosby create our portrait for the Obama Presidential Center. Her artistic brilliance shines through โ and the way she infused such life and joy into the piece is truly extraordinary. We love it, and we think everyone who visits the Center will too!
