@jboogie Absolutely am with you. One of the best engineering managers I've known told me that when an engineer sees the user's pains, understands their needs, and knows they are a person - not persona in a PRD - they code differently, and better. I've seen it. It is true.

One of the worst takes in digital product is that doing discovery, research or customer work is a “waste of developers’ time.”

What’s actually wasteful:
- building software no one needs
- adding feature bloat (and debt and maintenance)
- negotiating priorities w/o context
