This paper nicely illustrates that we need to look laterally & innovatively at how we evaluate outcomes. The MET score is one such way of avoiding ceiling effects in arthroplasty.

For an accurate assessment of a knee arthroplasty procedure's health value, clinicians & researchers should use the metabolic equivalent of task as an adjunct to the ususal PROMs.

@HayleyDenwood Yes we do in the UK 🇬🇧. Super useful. Had several aspirates initial gram stain negative, biofire picked up strep, then culture (3 days later) also grew strep! Washed out the same day based on biofire, preventing a potential treatment delay. It’s brilliant tech. @BioFireDX
Wonderful surprise to see my enormous haggard face in microscopically high definition 🥴 😂 - if I’d know, I would’ve hired a team of make up artists… or a perhaps a time machine 😳! Thanks @AAOS1 for a fab session on hip recon - had a blast presenting #AAOS2023@MSkLab1
Great to see @edwards_tomc @msklab1 presenting his important work on surgical training at #aaos2023 Las Vegas. So important to consider the whole team when promoting patient safety in the operating theatre
Hey #AAOS2023 looking forward to presenting our work training scrub nurses in #VR this afternoon- come find out how they got on - 1.30pm Venetian Ballroom G (Spoiler: they absolutely loved it 😉) @MSkLab1@orthorobodoc@ADLiddle@KLogishetty
Thank you for having us @HSpecialSurgery@HSS_ARJR_CJRC - brilliant place for research and clinical care. Amazing hospitality from host @HipSurgeryNYC, thanks for blowing my mind with your thoughts on TKA alignment & hip-spine relations. We’ll be back! @BritishORS@BoneJointRes
We are honored to welcome the BORS-BJR Travelling Fellows from the UK to #HSS! During their visit the fellows will be observing several of our surgeons in the OR, touring our labs, and participating in a research symposium with our #Biomechanics faculty.

A lot of axolotls! The @BritishORS@BoneJointRes#travellingfellows had a wonderful time learning about these fascinating creatures @Northeastern with Profs James Monaghan and Sandra Shefelbine. Their research in limb regeneration was mind blowing! Thanks for having us! 🦴🇬🇧🇺🇸
