It is easy to point out the peculiarities of other languages and technologies. What is often forgotten is that your own language/technology is just as bad, but you don't see it anymore because you have been working with it for so long.
In TypeScript, typed results using template literal types always felt a bit magic to me. So I had to dive in and create a regular expression match function with type safe capturing groups:

In Next.js, redirect() internally throws an error, that's why you can't use this function inside a try-catch block.
I really hope @nextjs will change this because I foresee many wasted hours spend on debugging by thousands of developers.
It's very cool that @vercel is creating @nextjs, but less cool is the vendor lockin by using non standard http headers.
