@corsaren@cory_fitz You are citing West Wing speeches performed by an actor as the gold standard of oratory. Can you share any better examples of a real-world politician delivering a better speech (in a joyful moment)?
@GroovySciFi it’s the leverage of tech + the deal sizes and LTV in B2B businesses. the chick at Stripe is in sales, a few deals a year easily recovers her comp. and she’s selling to CTOs/Eng Directors, so it requires semi-technical / specialized knowledge.
@NikkiMcR to her credit, she astutely observes that the knicks dap up their teammates after missed free-throws. all the other "censorious" teams would never!
their future taxes fund your social security. they will wipe your ass when you can’t yourself. they’ll make the content you furiously react to as you grow destitute.
but, sure. have your “7 days in the carribean” instead. enjoy staring at your phone, growing old, and dying helpless.
@CeleritasRe@SemiAnalysis_ Yes, but it’s coherent. hardware improves the models + cloud biz -> improves the ads / defends their moat -> makes $ to feed the flywheel
G also doesn’t “compete” with fb on ads. G serves ads on YouTube and google, platforms so good you can’t PAY people to stop using them.
@jasonschips $SMH is cap-weighted and top-heavy. NVDA+TSM alone are 25%+ of it.
He is still long the miner-power names like $CORZ that (from my pov) make the fund distinctive and worth following. But he's hedging, perhaps anticipating a pullback in infra buildout.
I'm tired of the Leopold discourse too. My read on the 13f is he's long memory, foundry, and btc-miner-power rotation. The optical thesis is over (or at least, on break).
So he is net long AI infrastructure (obviously) but with less convexity than last quarter. Not crazy!
@PandaDaytona@GavinSBaker both are technical and knowledgeable enough to have an informed opinion. dwarkesh was playing devil's advocate, and it led to a generative debate. i have lots of respect for both of them (and Gavin) for debating in good faith and pressure-testing policy ideas.
