@ciarakellydoc If another election became constitutionally necessary at the moment, I wonder how it could be run? It seems like a normally-run election could undo all of the hard-won gains from social distancing and lockdown literally overnight. That would be an act of national madness.
@Internetisafad@eircare Nicole from @eircare was very helpful and was able to tell me that the sign-up page wouldn't go live until 31st of March. The idea was that the webmail interface would have a link to the sign-up page. Not sure if that's still the case in light of the turn things have taken since
Latest science says you HAVE to stay home. 60% of infections now estimated from people with NO symptoms. 1 in 3 people have no symptoms but are infectious. It hasn’t hit yours lungs but it’s in your throat u cough or simply breath it out. Stay home.

Pure exploitation. Whatever you think about the rights and wrongs of students working for free as part of their education, no way can this be considered a normal part of a nurse's training. They should be remunerated for the arduous and dangerous work they are being asked to do.
Conflict of interest to declare-my daughter is a student nurse. Unfair that university students are all sent home for their protection EXCEPT student nurses who are deployed to hospitals to work for free.
@witnessmenow I soldered one of those Atmel QT1070 cap-sense ICs onto a board to have a little play with it. First impressions are that it's a little cracker 🙂
@witnessmenow I just got a few of these https://t.co/Fd1KRfEKux earlier in the week for a project I have in mind that has been on the long finger for a while. Since it
is looking like I might have some extra time over the next few weeks 😁, I'll let you know how I get on with them.
@bengoldacre This is why we can't have nice things (and in this case, very funny things) 🙄 There's an argument for letting nature take its course here and having natural selection weed the dolts out.
Me: may I have an apple slice please.
Barista: Do you want to eat it?
Me: well I don’t want to shove it up me hole do I 🙂

Barista: I said Do you want it Heated.
@MaiaDunphy@EagleEyeEd I wonder: if you were an Italian person, would you want to run the risk of being sealed into an aeroplane with some of your possibly-infected countrymen for two hours, breathing recirculated air? I think many of them won't want to chance that, especially with no match to go to.
Euler's identity displays a profound connection between fundamental numbers π, e (the base of natural logarithms), and i (the imaginary unit).
It is considered one of the most beautiful formulas in mathematics.
Reading a paper on Black Holes. It contains the magnificent footnote: ‘Although the manufacture of such buckets from conventional matter may be impossible, their existence does not violate the rules of relativistic quantum field theory.’
Ten years ago today, The Lancet retracted Andrew Wakefield’s fraudulent 1998 article claiming the MMR vaccine caused autism. He performed procedures on children unethically, paid kids at a birthday party to give him blood samples, and doctored data.
He still claims he was right.
@abbyfuller Gah! That's just what Big Exercise want us to think. Pure propaganda. I'm sticking with my strategy of eating cheeseburgers and watching TV. That has been working well for me. All 350lbs of me :-)
If I were to ask you: what is 6% of 33? How many of you would immediately say: “well, it’s the same as 33% of 6, which is 2 (one third of 6)” ? It’s insane that such an obvious and simple bit of maths is so little known - as in, IT HAD NEVER OCCURRED TO ME, EITHER!
