George Will’s column today “Five Ways …” like most columns addressing the national debt never touches the Military Budget - a good part of the reason for our escalating debt.
@mathewbevers@LorraMizne93574@harryjsisson With the majority in the House bending to his wishes and the Senate doing the same I’d say we’re in very precariously close to dictatorship.
@cspanwj all this talk about redistricting to “guarantee”
their party will win ignores the numbers
Majority (219) Republican (219) Minority (212) Democratic (212) Vacant (4) Vacant (4
Some of us are wondering why the R’s think they need more seats!
@cspanwj Do the parties assume that by redistricting they’ll always win? I’m sure there are voters all over the U.S. who assume that’s the case. But I’m guessing w DT being so erratic and R members of Congress voting in lock step there’s a big chance that angry voters will vote D!
@CrocDLord @peaheron @MorePerfectUS I looked up. Quite a few of the states are still at $7.25/hr including my own cheapskate state of NH. Unlikely anyone actually works for that though!
@r_maedje @cfishman I’m always interested in commenters who have a zero background in science who are telling us we should believe that person rather than those affected - farmers and those whose expertise is in climate studies.
@cspanwj the numbers this morning certainly explain why there’s a low birth rate! I can’t imagine Congress passing a childcare bill that would offer parents a break on care when they’re so busy being distracted by the antics of POTUS!
