people really don't like when a coworker's chatgpt contacts them asking for help with a task, even when they'd be perfectly happy doing that same work if asked by that coworker.

reinforces how much people care about human relationships and helping each other, and want AI to give time back — or enhance time together — rather than become a layer separating people.

couldn’t agree more. sometimes investors ask us why we’re not optimizing our infra for fully autonomous companies and then at the end of the call they’re like let me go discuss this with my team… Such a psyop. The best/most fun/fulfilling work will always be done by multiple humans

I think it's the Solow paradox again. 1987: "you can see the computer age everywhere but in the productivity statistics." the gains only showed up once companies actually reorganized around the computer and I think the same thing is happening atm. basically every AI tool rn is still super heavily single-player pilled/optimized.

Skills and the capacity to implement those skills used to come bundled in the same package: people. Now the capacity part is moving to compute (tokens and CPU).

I keep coming back to this. If you deeply understood a complex system, you still needed a team to act on that understanding at any reasonable speed. The organization was basically shaped around that constraint. And now that constraint is just... dissolving?

So what happens to the person who has the judgment but used to need five people around them to move? What are they now? Does their team even look like a team anymore?

The weird thing is that LLMs are still not great at deep information work across big messy systems. So the human with real context probably becomes more valuable, not less, but I'm not sure anyone knows what that value looks like inside an actual company yet.

I think the implications here are way less obvious than they seem. We're hiring at @leveragecpu, and part of what we're looking for is people who want to help us figure this out. How people actually use AI as a team is still basically unsolved, and the answer probably shapes everything about what companies look like from here.
