Blue consistently wins when the threshold is 50%. Would be interesting to see if the numbers come out differently if 60%, 70%, etc. blue was needed for everyone to survive.

This hypothetical is a great example of how a question's wording can bias the result. "Blue = save everyone. Red = save yourself" is a powerful moral framing that leads a lot of people towards blue. But consider a different description of the same situation: (1/4)

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

I'm not saying that blue-pressers are wrong. You could argue that, since the original framing morally biases many towards blue, it would be worth choosing blue to save those who intuitively desire to save others. But if framed differently, red may be the right choice. (4/5)
