Last week, Randstad India Chief Marketing Officer Revathi Raghunath moderated a discussion focused on "Women on Boards," organized by the Netherlands Embassy in India and the Embassy of Belgium in New Delhi, under the EU Gender Champion initiative.
The panel brought together inspiring women - ShereenBhan, Vartika Shukla, Anandita Chauhan, Sqn Ldr Dimple Rawat(Retd), Anasuya Ray, Marisa Gerards, and Radhika Gupta - from diverse sectors who shared their journeys and insights.
The discussion emphasized the critical need for diversity across all organizational and generational levels and how companies are evolving to create more inclusive workplaces. The panelists shared their unique lived experiences and emphasized how each journey is distinct. We delved into the significance of allyship, empathy, mentorship, and family support in fostering inclusive environments. Some of the key takeaways from the panel were:
▶ Empathy and Understanding: Recognizing that everyone has unique lived experiences and striving to put ourselves in others' shoes to build empathy.
▶Inclusion in Leadership: Ensuring inclusion at every leadership forum, whether at conferences or internal organizational events, to inspire more women in leadership positions.
▶Inclusive Policy Making: Incorporating diverse perspectives in policy-making processes to ensure decision-making is inclusive.
▶Role of Mentorship: Highlighting the importance of mentorship in personal and professional development.
