Especially since they supported him through his drought last season.

It’s just the timing of this Julian request, after a promising season as we went further than usual.

@Linusss24 @liabinkin Not all transfers are done in installments, clubs can ask for the transfer to be paid up front. Which we did. Also we aren’t trying to sign someone World Class, just someone who can produce.
The ST market is horrible at the moment. Goncalo Ramos was 74m.

100m-120m over 6 yearly installments. Atletico would only see 16m-20m per season. That’s not enough to get a suitable replacement.

That’s why a transfer to Barca is ruled out.
We’re glad to let Julian go but he’s refusing to negotiate other destinations. 🤷🏾‍♂️

They may not be direct rivals to Barca, but that’s 1 of 2 teams you have to beat to win something in Spain.

This is how big clubs conduct themselves. As for pathetic, small clubs like Atlético Madrid, who hold their players hostage and force them to stay against their will, they will remain small forever.
