@TheCuleFootball@nadia_gfx@hashuAG7 Slightly I do considering they destroyed us in ucl. But my guess is because they’re a different league + have the money.
@TheCuleFootball@nadia_gfx@hashuAG7 I do feel bad for realistic Barca fans for realizing this saga hindered you all, we shouldn’t have Romero. Barca should.
But that’s also on Barca management for not putting their foot down, y’all are football giants.
@TheCuleFootball@nadia_gfx@hashuAG7 If he was convinced that my atleti were gonna win multiple trophies in two years, then he’s delusional. 😂 last season felt like a fever dream compared to our last 5 years.
@TheCuleFootball@nadia_gfx@hashuAG7 I think they’re sour because they spent 100m on Julian, signed him 6 years with a 500m release clause. 2 years into the project, he asks out and wants to go to a team still in La Liga, the most dangerous one. Especially since they supported him through his drought last season.
@TheCuleFootball@nadia_gfx@hashuAG7 You guys didn’t negotiate after the clause, you tried to pay the release clause in installments, Atleti said no because they lost 80m from the 200m release clause being reduced.
It’s just the timing of this Julian request, after a promising season as we went further than usual.
@Admgkfdkk@cityzenken_@citycyborg22 They paid Grizi’s release clause which meant we couldn’t stop him for leaving unless we had the 120m ourselves. That’s the point of the release clause. To skip negotiations with the players club. What are you missing 😂?
@Linusss24@liabinkin Not all transfers are done in installments, clubs can ask for the transfer to be paid up front. Which we did. Also we aren’t trying to sign someone World Class, just someone who can produce.
The ST market is horrible at the moment. Goncalo Ramos was 74m.
@TheCuleFootball@nadia_gfx@hashuAG7 That’s is all true, but why are we acting like it’s a foreign concept for Atletico Madrid to not want to give Barca their best player after they’ve dominated the league over the last 2-3 years. We give Barca Julian, Barca might 3-peat the UCL.
@vee_man_@osley1010@Benking443@FabrizioRomano I never said anything about PSG, Atletico aren’t negotiating with Barca because their first offer included INSTALLMENTS.
100m-120m over 6 yearly installments. Atletico would only see 16m-20m per season. That’s not enough to get a suitable replacement.
@Linusss24@liabinkin Yes let’s sell our best player for 100-120m in 6 installments. We’d only see about 16-20m this season if we accept that offer. We won’t be able to buy any lethal striker at all to replace him….
@Admgkfdkk@cityzenken_@citycyborg22 No, we didn’t. Barca waited and paid Griezmann’s reduced release clause. After a certain date his release clause was reduced to 120m. We never negotiated a transfer with Barca.
@vee_man_@osley1010@Benking443@FabrizioRomano They want 150, they need a striker desperately in this window since Sorloth is injured. They sell Julian for anything less they won’t have a suitable replacement.
@FcbTonyfcb@PeakSxnti This is entirely different, even if it wasn’t, Atletico asked for the 150m upfront from Barca, and Barca didn’t want to pay.
That’s why a transfer to Barca is ruled out.
We’re glad to let Julian go but he’s refusing to negotiate other destinations. 🤷🏾♂️
@FcbTonyfcb@PeakSxnti Atletico has a new sporting director who wants to eventually be competing consistently with Barca and Real.
They may not be direct rivals to Barca, but that’s 1 of 2 teams you have to beat to win something in Spain.
I wouldn’t sell my star player directly to Barca either.
@babatundejr31@BarcaTimes@MatteMoretto You see the display Barca put on yesterday? Imagine Atletico just so graciously giving them their best player to bolster that attack.
Atletico won’t be able to find a suitable replacement striker, and Sorloth is injured as-well.
@TikiTakaVision@atletiuniverse I genuinely think Atleti were open to selling him but the club-to-club between Atleti and Barca became toxic.
Between multiple false reports putting a bad light on the club, Real Madrid also making a mockery of the situation, I think president became fed up.
Two players on an expiring contract vs. a player who has 3+ years left in contract in which he just signed.
Didnt Barca do the same with Neymar? Josep announced he wasn’t for sale, until PSG triggered his release clause?
Maybe we’re just taking note from the “big club”?
Ferran Torres asked Barcelona to let him move to Paris Saint-Germain, and despite Barcelona still not having signed a striker and needing him, they immediately started negotiations with PSG and respected his wishes.
Rodri asked Manchester City to let him move to Barcelona, and despite City needing a number 6, they immediately started negotiations with Barcelona and respected his wishes.
This is how big clubs conduct themselves. As for pathetic, small clubs like Atlético Madrid, who hold their players hostage and force them to stay against their will, they will remain small forever.
