It is such a pleasure and privilege to be back in Australia’s little #Cornwall for @KernewekCC 2023 🎉 the festival is already underway and I’m looking forward to giving my paper at the Cornish Association of South Australia’s seminar later this week!
We're really happy @ek_neale is joining us for the summer, to develop our ICS relationships with our #cornish#diaspora communities around the world. Kate is an ethnomusicologist who wrote a fabulous PhD about #CornishMusic amongst our diaspora.@HaSSCornwall@UniExeCornwall
Excited and honoured to be giving this Library Lecture for @TheEFDSS about my research into #carols from #cornwall in #SouthAustralia 🗣️🎶 please join us on Wednesday evening!
‘Wherever there’s a hole in the ground, you’re sure to find a Cornishman digging for metal’. And also singing Christmas carols?...

Our new report into Housing Affordability in Cornwall makes sobering reading. In short, there are only 6 postcodes where some types of housing (flats) are affordable on local incomes. Renting is equally challenging.

@KatrinaNaomi@GorsedhKernow I know I'm criticising it for not answering a question it isn't asking - but I feel that articles like this fuel a perception that there is no local impact/context to second homes, that Cornwall and areas like it are just playgrounds or investments, not somewhere people live
“Second thoughts” on #secondhomes with no mention of the impact on the local housing market: so many people in #Cornwall are struggling if not finding it downright impossible to rent or afford a first home among the “lower-end” properties around £250-500k 🤦#cornwallhousingcrisis
@ESDale77 I really like this little rhyme - the way it scans leaves these uncertain, wistful pauses which for me give it a deeply forlorn atmosphere. Honestly haven't come across anything else quite like it!
@SeamasHCarey Definitely agree re. not wanting to isolate yourself, v much feeding into that "how honest is too honest" point that @ciaranclarke makes. Declining outlets also feeds into the question of who you are reviewing for - the artist or the potential audience?
