1/ 🧵 My personal experience during the (PEV).
I was 16 years old. It was just before New Year’s Day, and we lived in an apartment in Kona, Langas, Eldoret. What started as tense whispers of political uncertainty became the darkest, period of my life.
Here’s my story👇
Today we are marching not because we personally know anyone who has been violated or killed, but because we do not know when it might happen to us, as it did to them. Let's end femicide now.
#EndFemicideKE#TotalshutdownKe
Now this is a call for all of us back to the streets! A very peaceful & worthy cause being met with police brutality. 100 Million ????!!!. We should be protesting everyday now!!!! #RutoMustGo #TotalShutDownKE . The protest was just today but we now need it everyday! #EndFemicideKE
