@Veganella_@hoothathuh Plough up grass for cereals, sow milling wheat for flour. But can't guarantee will make the grade at harvest, weather dictates that. If fails milling grade goes for animal feed. Cereal often to animal feed as last resort. Need a backup market if no animals. Or £ up to cover cost.
@AnnMile71721158@RoyHowellJones1@MilesKing10@RichardBowler1 and maybe you should be asking how a chicken can be produced for £6. Lamb may appear expensive but it is giving a sensible return at that price to all in the production chain . If we want sustainable food production in this country the price has to rise on most other foods.
@NorthleazeFarm@HefinR There a bundle of blue nitram bags in the roof, I can remember having to load the Vicon wagtail with them.
The relief when the dumpy bag came out!
While cleaning out our old threshing barn I decided it was time to tackle the previous tenants, pre 1980s , wooden cupboard.
There must be a 100 old hessian sacks some stitched and mended others as good as new.
@mendipfarmer@BorisJohnson@trussliz @DJWarburton Agreed, we would do the same. How ever bad we might think our lifes are right now its nothing compared to these poor people.
