53 years ago today.
One week after my 5th birthday.
You were gone.
Assassinated for answering a call to conscience, for speaking truth to power, for being a drum major for justice who sought to rid the world of racism, militarism and poverty.
I miss you. Still. Always.
Breonna Taylor’s death was a tragedy, a blow to her family, her community, and America. As we continue to mourn her, we must press ahead to pass meaningful police reform in Congress. I remain committed to signing a landmark reform bill into law.
When George Floyd was murdered by police, the media highlighted his criminal record
When Ashli Babbitt was murdered by the police, the media highlighted her status as a Air Force veteran
... & largely ignored her property destruction charges & 3 restraining orders
