#NicoleHurricane continues to consume beaches and dunes in South Carolina today, her cumulative impacts with Ian = some of the worst erosion we've seen in years
The city tells me this is a groin placed here in the 90s to help catch sand and build the beach. Before #Ian and #Nicole the only visible part was the yellow tip. There are several other groins like this along the beach. #wx#beach#erosion#chsnews@Live5News

New hyper-local water level data helps South Carolina communities navigate historic flooding event! For the 1st time, we are measuring our tides and preparing for impacts in real time thanks to a widespread network of low cost sensors in the southeast. https://t.co/k7hUtlqiIP
ASBPA is helping communities improve coastal resilience by measuring local water levels across the Southeast U.S. through a new widespread network of water level monitoring stations made possible by a SECOORA grant. https://t.co/4zBiEOhRqs
This is such a fun project! Today, I surveyed critical elevation thresholds with town staff on Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island, SC. This will be added to the @Hohonuinc Dashboard and eventually used for flood notifications.
In collaboration with @secoora@asbpa and others, Hohonu is monitoring water level across North Carolina and South Carolina. Create an account at https://t.co/u9Qcafv2Im to view real-time data for free
