So sad. She was one of the first politicians I met. At a climate conference in 2006 when she was Deputy Mayor.
She was passionate and knowledgeable and gracious enough to speak with me, a teenage youth delegate. When business was done, we danced - she also knew how to party!
Very sad to hear my dear friend @nickygavron has passed. A stalwart of London and Haringey politics, she was a life force at City Hall. Passionate about the Climate Emergency, the Built Environment and Urban Planning she improved the lives of so many people. Generous, kind and engaging she will be hugely missed.
Violence is not protest. Hatred has no place in South Yorkshire.
The best - indeed the only - response to the heartbreaking attack in Southport, and the violence we’ve seen across the country, is to redouble our efforts to look out for and after each other.
That is who we are.
I know this continues to be a worrying time. Please look after each other.
Let us send a clear message – Sheffield is a City of Sanctuary and we are stronger together. 3/3
Today we’ve brought the @SheffGrandPrix cycle race back into @sheffcitycentre. A community ride kicked off the event, followed by youth, regional, and elite races as part of @BritishCycling’s National Circuit Race series. Great to join in the fun with @elledodd and @norris_for 🚴♂️
