If our Christianity causes kids to go hungry, the sick to go without healthcare, the stranger to be unwelcome, the needy to be called "parasites," and our planet to be ravaged, all while billionaires get richer, we've misunderstood the most basic elements of Jesus' teachings.
Oklahoma was 17th in the nation for public education. Twenty years of one party in charge, and we’ve fallen to 50th. That’s not a partisan opinion, it’s a fact, and it should bother all of us the same. I’ve spent my time in the legislature working with Republicans who felt the same frustration, because our kids don’t care about party lines, they just need a good school.
As governor, I’ll bring people together to fix this, and I’ll earn your trust one honest step at a time.
I’m Cyndi Munson — and I’m the Democratic nominee for Governor of Oklahoma.
I got into this race because everyday Oklahomans deserve a leader who actually listens. Who shows up. Who fights for YOU, not big corporations and the wealthiest among us.
While the Republican candidates spent millions of their own money attacking each other and fighting over who is more extreme — I was traveling Oklahoma listening to real people, focusing on real solutions, to solve the real everyday problems.
To every Oklahoman who has ever felt overlooked: I see you. I’m fighting for you. Join the campaign today.
Today marks 105 years since the Tulsa Race Massacre—one of the most violent and horrific acts of racial violence in American history—destroying Black Wall Street and the Greenwood District neighborhood by burning homes and businesses and killing Black Tulsans. We honor and remember the lives lost and communities destroyed on May 31, 1921, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
And we can never forget, even when our state’s history makes us uncomfortable. On this day, we are reminded of why knowing the truth and telling the truth are important for all of us to move forward. We honor those whose resiliency and vision have never wavered to ensure a thriving Greenwood District neighborhood today.
We need to kill this narrative. Over the last few years, the concerns about tech in K-12 had little to do with test scores. The concerns were psychological, social, and spiritual. Don't let the media do this "oh, scores haven't improved" thing. It'll be a back door for tech to return.
It's such a harmful Christian theology that looks at wars and famine and says, "This might be the fulfillment of End Times prophecies!" and "Jesus might be retuning soon!" instead of "look at how much people are suffering” and “how can we stop this injustice?"
The strategy of a “double-tap” strike, bombing first, waiting, and bombing again, is to kill survivors, rescuers, civilians and emergency medical workers. This is why the Geneva Conventions define this double-tapping as a potential war crime.
In the case of the school in Minab, the US in the second strike was killing parents in horror over the children being killed in a surprise attack and trying to find them.
This is the greatest number of civilians killed by the US military since the My Lai Massacre in the Vietnam War.
This strike on schoolgirls was perpetrated on the very first day of the war. When all strikes were meticulously planned in advance.
The Trump Administration is purposefully not tapping into emergency funds to support food stamps, thereby ending food stamps for 40 million Americans.
Argentina is getting 40 billion dollars, while Americans will starve.
Evil is an understatement
This sort of shit should scare you, but it’s every day now so it’ll barely make a blip. The precedent is now “attempt coup if it doesn’t go our way” because no one was actually punished for the last one.
🚨BREAKING: In a staggering lie, Karoline Leavitt claims Trump has secured "nearly $9 trillion" in investment to the US.
That’s larger than the GDP of every nation on earth except the U.S. and China. It’s not just false - it’s cartoonishly stupid.
Chris Murphy: "The question today is when is enough enough for Republicans. I was very glad to see Ted Cruz stand up and say what is simply true -- it is unconstitutional and deeply immoral for the president to jail or silence his political enemies ... next week, we need every Republican in the Senate and House not only speaking up, but going to Donald Trump and telling him that they are not gonna let him get away with this massive new contraction of speech. This is a decisive moment for the country."
In a less insane time, if it was discovered that the President of the United States said this privately to their AG, it would’ve triggered an all-encompassing, impeachable corruption scandal.
Here, Trump is saying it publicly and it’s just another Saturday.
Brian Kilmeade: “Kimmel’s comments went way too far.”
This from the guy who, just days ago on live TV, called for homeless people to be murdered. You can’t make this up.
Big Shout Out to Republican Senator Lankford, who just called out Stephen Miller's crazy rhetoric:
"They have a very different view than I do. I'm a conservative Republican. I have Democratic friends...Just having that ideology, just believing differently than some other American, is not illegal. That's America."
We need more of this from both sides.
“The president of Venezuela called the strike on the boat illegal…”
TRUMP: “What’s illegal is the fact that 300 million people died last year from drugs.”🤔
(Fact-check — There are only 340,000,000 people in our entire country)
This is probably going to go unreported but this might be the most shocking thing any talking head has ever said on television.
He straight up just said we should murder all homeless people.
They’re just openly making the case for the military to do law enforcement in America. Something the military was never supposed to and which democracies are supposed to abhor.
Authoritarianism, right out in the open.
Lankford might not strut around in a ridiculous hat like our other Senator, but his votes are just as bad.
Because of his bad vote on the Big Ugly Bill, SoonerCare and SNAP cuts will hurt Oklahoma families.
Now he’s trying to jam Trump loyalist nominees through the Senate.
