Social media of the future will connect us across all dimensions and we'll continue to grapple with privacy and capitalism. But staying grounded in our humanity & why it matters is key. Loved learning about how it can be used to care for our elders this final week! #INFO246w81
How effective is your social media? Metrics that go beyond the 0.5 seconds it takes to like a post, like re-shares (amplifying), watching through content, click throughs, and conversion to borrowing book recs, program attendance, etc. are super important #INFO246w718
@cindytrang_sjsu Agreed! Patrons can also choose to share certain demographic info so that libraries can understand specific needs and provide better services.
I think aggregated, anonymous data that represents the voices of staff & patrons is important to better serve the community. This could be through surveys, demographics, focus groups. #INFO246w74
Also Los Angeles Public Library's epic & viral post of the Linda Lindas performing "Racist Sexist Boy" at a library branch to kick off AAPI Heritage Month is a great example. They just won a Webby for it! https://t.co/oF0we3fSM4 #INFO246w620
@tgmlis I love this question! I don't think I have an answer because I love hearing about people's favorite books that I haven't read, but as long as the answer isn't, "I don't have one..."
@laceykatx Same as mine! I think they use a platform to cross-post their content. It's probably because of lack of time/skill, but regardless it could be a lot better.
Arcadia Public Library (where I work) posts the same content to each social media platform. The tone isn't consistent because different staff write different posts, and they don't engage followers in comments. Definitely a missed opportunity! #INFO246w620
Hey ya'll! My name is Eva and I live in Los Angeles. I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley part of LA, which has the highest number of boba shops per capita in the U.S. We love our boba!🧋 #INFO246w66
