Growing up I was always told that it was on me and my personal actions to help solve climate change. I wish the education system taught us that 100 corporations make up over 70% of global carbon emissions. What are your thoughts @DrAuroraElmore ?
3 Simple ways to reduce the effects of climate change are; reducing personal energy consumption, buying local/seasonal foods as well as eating more plant-based meals, and urging leaders to take action towards net-zero emissions!
It's incredibly upsetting to see that climate change–which in and of itself is harmful–disproportionately impacts black communities. This brings to light that this is more than just an environmental issue; it is a social issue! #EM203Robin#EM203Research

Hey, @EM203SGibson your concept map on homelessness was great as it reflected the interconnectedness of mental health; anxiety/depression induced by homelessness heightens the risk of substance abuse as a coping mechanism. Hence, this is an issue of importance!

@cassiecarfa Hi Cassie! I definitely think so too. However, while the education system must evolve, so must learners of the digital age. I believe it is equally important for learners to strengthen their digital literacy!
@EM203FrancescoM I agree! Discussion posts enable us to take our existing understanding and contrast it with that of with others. We can really see the constructivist learning style in action through this course's approach!
@em203_czhang EM 203 definitely possesses interesting content! I found the lesson on who learners of the digital age are to be particularly fascinating as I learned that Canadian adults are some of the biggest internet users and video consumers of the world!
@Em203CAdamson I think the course certainly brings to light things I would not have otherwise considered–things like technological disadvantages! It was interesting to learn how technology can induce cognitive overload and the negative impacts of multi-tasking!
@EM203PCanham Constructivism is a highly relevant theory! It’s been interesting to see the theory in action in an online environment (like through breakout rooms), but I’m also excited to experience the constructivist perspective in person!
Through EM203, I’ve learned highly relevant concepts like who learners of the digital age are, constructivism which involves learning by interacting with others and comparing perspectives, and how the 3M’s can be implemented to enhance one’s learning experiences!
