Fruit of the poisonous tree, I agree. We all benefit from this skirmish, but the hypocrisy coming from the US, who except Meta's Llama and Google's Gemma hasn't offered open weights is just unbelievable.
So, all major US AI models have used copyrighted/private/stolen training data to kick off their models, something known and proven (Anna's archive) and made closed models.
But now it's a problem when China is open sourcing models that are trained on the US models 🙃
