@Charlesknight I would imagine for ‘run of the mill’ colds etc it wouldn’t make much difference. But I would guess it’s harder to empathise with someone dealing with the exhaustion and overwhelm of a chronic illness. Not sure there’s an easy solution to that though.
@drlaurajane Anything that keeps boredom at bay, but that isn’t too taxing. Puzzle books, fairly light novels or magazines, things like that. Also snacks, depending on their health status.
@rebecca_keatley In a long ago episode of Mad About You, they named their daughter Mabel because it stood for ‘mothers always bring extra love’. Many congratulations to you :)

💬 "I joined the #NHS 54 years ago and enjoyed every minute."
How incredible. Great to have @BBCLondonNews feature Pat Farrant, a paediatric liver sonographer at King's, who joined the NHS at 18 years old in 1966, for #NHS75.
We've also named a clinical room after Pat! 🫶
@KingsCollegeNHS this is lovely! I remember Pat from my days as a paediatric liver patient. Always with a ready smile :) Pat, I wish you a wonderful retirement. https://t.co/oomopoXD5O
