What a great resource from the NSW DoE. So many helpful documents to help plan a school garden especially the 'Sustainability Action Process'. Plus it shows the exact syllabus links to #science and #geography. #UoNTeach

An informative and easy to follow #YouTube clip on water conservation. Zelenika, Moreau, Lane and Zhao (2018) state that once people are taught about environmental issues, they are more likely to engage in actions that promote #sustainability. #UoNTeach

A great diagram found on #Pinterest. It would be an interesting way of linking the school project to other KLA's such as #Science. It would further literacy skills to learn new language specific to the life cycle the plants they grow. #lifecycle#UoNTeach

Hunter Indigenous Plants is a local business that offers workshops about native plants for schools. I'll definitely be booking a workshop on food production for households as well as water wise and #sustainable eco-gardens when planning my unit. #UoNTeach

What a great way to explore the cross-curriculum priorities. A must watch video about the use of native Australian plants. This could be used when planning a garden and the different varieties of plants to include. #IndigenousAustralia#UoNTeach
A great & authentic resource that can teach cross-curriculum priorities of Aboriginal history & culture along with sustainability which can also be taught through multiple KLAs. Bruce, a Yuin and Bunurong man discusses the use of native plants. Very interesting! #UoNTeach

Look at these students promoting sustainability in their school. This provides a great avenue to explore #sustainability but also a way to explore how a #greenhouse works and how this helps us with responsible production. #UoNTeach#science

This book explores ways that a school garden benefits the community. Some weekends the community gathers to eat a meal from the garden. The author describes it as part celebration, part how-to. What great #inspiration for our garden. #UoNTeach#community#foodproduction#literacy
A very interesting look at ways of producing food in a more #sustainable way. Definitely something to draw inspiration from when designing our school garden. Could this be the way forward to a more responsible production? What do you think? #UoNTeach

This book explores how to take action to help save our planet. Everything from saving water and recycling to growing seasonal food. I would love to get my hands on a copy to ensure that it's at an appropriate reading level for my class. #literacy#UoNTeach#sustainability
A very interesting incorporation of technology when designing a garden. This could be a great way to incorporate maths and technology into a unit of work revolving around responsible production and sustainable futures. #uonteach#minecraft#vegepatch
A Minecraft garden for creative homework complete with dog kennels, ponds, vegetable patch and raised flower beds. Wish homework was this fun when I was at school! @ScarthoJ @MrsLyons3L
The Kitchen Garden Program has now partnered with Coles! I wonder what the cost of participating in this program is. It would be a great way to begin our school produce garden. #UoNTeach#vegegarden#sustainability
Today we are proud to announce our partnership with @Coles which will help @SAKGF continue to support the 2000 schools and centres already running a kitchen garden program, and make the program accessible to more schools and centres around the country. https://t.co/xrpeaEy45Q
What a great infographic! This would be a great activity to add to a unit plan when exploring #composting, the students could each create their own posters to be displayed with the bins on the playground to help encourage other students to #compost correctly. #UoNTeach#waste
@Jamie44153694 What a great idea! Tik Tok videos are so popular with our students at the moment so this would be a great way to engage them with their learning. I wonder if you could make a Tik Tok video as a class about the students own ventures into #recycling.
@Jamie44153694 I think that's such an important point to make. Students need to understand the reasoning behind their actions. There's no point telling a student to do something without supporting them and providing them with the understanding.
@Jamie44153694 That would be a great activity in the current times of home learning. Parents could help set up this activity using things from around the house. #reuse#recycle#homelearning
@Jamie44153694 Four million? That is crazy! Now imagine what that number would be if every school did their part and helped to clean up their local beaches. #clean#oceans
