It was an honor to learn from the amazing patients and their families at the @n_lorem Nano-rare Patient Colloquium this week. Their stories were a powerful reminder of why I chose to pursue the physician scientist path. Excited for potential @HertzFoundation partnership.
I first became excited about tunneling nanotubules at the ASCB/EMBO meeting in 2017! Thrilled to learn about their functional roles in vascular growth.
Our latest @Nature paper is out! We show that transplanting mitochondria into endothelial cells boosts their ability to form blood vessels in ischemic tissues, with mitophagy as the key mechanism. A potential game-changer for vascular cell therapies. https://t.co/ViscFIc9sv

Excited to see the first paper from @TakashiAkeraLab ! They identify a mechanistic basis for reproductive isolation by analyzing chromosomes from hybrid mouse oocytes. Beautiful and important work.
Our first research paper is now published at nature! 🎉🐭🔬We found that F1 hybrid female mice can have defective chromosome condensation in oocytes, creating a reproductive isolating barrier. Congrats again to our postdoc, Warif El Yakoubi🎊

Congratulations to @jamieboz31 for a great final presentation of her work in the Red-Horse lab with @StanfordCVI this summer. It’s been a pleasure to be your mentor. We miss you already!
Learning a ton from my first @GordonConf on Biomechanics in Vascular Biology and Disease @MountHolyoke . Great talks and even better people. Excited to share some new work from the @kristyredhorse lab later today!
Very pleased and proud to see our work out in @Nature https://t.co/hYgp84MZOM
Also great to be at #HCA2023GM Toronto with @kazukane as it goes live! @humancellatlas
The preprint tweetorial lays out the key findings in detail, but here are the headlines...

Was a privilege to work with @kaltschmidt_lab and @NeoPascaLab to interrogate human fetal gut physiology and think about ways to enhance GI motility for preterm babies!
