Travel, retail + lifestyle media relations @EdelmanPR. DC transplant from NY. Half-Canadian. Lover of all things outdoorsy, exercise, lobster and cats.
@hifortesa Happy to chat. When I went on my 6-month mat leave I thought, I'm never going to want to go back to work. But then came back in July and while tough to balance for sure, have been loving being back and having my "work" life and "mom" life separation.
@JoniSweet Would love that! Always a good exercise to verbally “elevator” pitch and get real time, honest feedback. Also never hurts to meet/hear from other PR pros too! 😊
@jsidman@resy Interesting! Curious if those are the most desired - or have the most limited number of slots and therefore fill up/require people to hit notify more often? (side note, been trying to get into @AventinoCucina for months to no avail and Le Dip seems easier!)
@JohnnyMotley Great Q! It depends - IMO, ideally within a few months, as press trip budgets often come from business goals (i.e. promoting a new hotel opening) - so articles can drive those results. But (good) PRs always counsel clients it can be a long game - sometimes up to a year+
@LauraItzkowitz Hi! My husband and I did the "Colosseum Underground Tour with Roman Forum and Palatine Hill" with The Roman Guy (looks like they may have rebranded to "The Tour Guy" since? (https://t.co/w2IuqkfTvq). We did a Vatican Tour with them as well. Both fantastic. Happy to chat more!
@conz@thisisinsider My husband and I never do gifts for birthdays, anniversaries or holidays - usually just go out for a nice dinner at the restaurant of our choice (and split the bill!) to celebrate :) we prefer to save or spend our money on travel together!
@conz I went to @camp_tamakwa for 9 years. My mom + grandfather also went! I credit camp to life skills from folding your own laundry, cleaning up after yourself, making friends, finding activities when you're bored. And you can't put a price on appreciating nature and the outdoors.
@CloeyCallahan I'm in PR and would never expect this of journalists I work with, so consistently check myself to see if a story has run. But it's always helpful to have a sense of when the story will run (day or week if it's possible to share) so we can keep an eye out and let clients know.
@stacespeaks HARO can be tough, on publicists' end as well! I prefer requests through individual Substacks/email list-servs, or via tweets where we are able to respond via DM/share more on email. Qwoted is great but costs a lot so sometimes we are not able to get a log-in approved.
