Proud to see three #VisitRwanda partners qualifying for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals! The performances of @Atleti, @Arsenal and @PSG_inside have shown consistency, excellence and resolve, and we look forward to the games ahead!
Rwanda cannot remain committed to the Washington Agreement when Washington is not committed to its agreement!
Washington’s commitment to its agreement necessarily demands it respects the Doha Peace Process.
As of now, Washington is undermining both.
I watched HE’s closing speech at the Leadership Retreat and I also followed our reactions in WhatsApp groups and on social media.
It feels like many of us are avoiding the most obvious and important part of his message. The concern about accountability is not only about GoR officials. It shows up in our homes and in our workplaces and in government of course.
Maybe each of us needs a personal « Mwiherero ». The kind where we ask ourselves honest and sometimes uncomfortable questions.
Think about your « to do list » from last month. How far did you go with it? Nanjye harimo ibyo nibagiwe, hari n’ibyo nirengagije gutunganya. Twisubireho!🙃🙊
Today on the 18th of March, a hearing of the case involving #Rwanda v. UK at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague has commenced. It is Rwanda’s position that the case is not about monetary compensation or any other form of financial gain. 1/14
After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
The sustainability of Rwanda's bilateral counter-terrorism deployment in Mozambique, if our forces are actually needed, depends on adequate, predictable funding.
This is what the European Peace Facility partly funds, and so far around €20m has been disbursed. The full cost to @RwandaGov is at least 10 times more, in addition to the ultimate sacrifice of loss of soldiers’ lives, all to stabilize Cabo Delgado.
Rwandan Forces went to Cabo Delgado in 2021 at the request of the Mozambican government, to work with a brotherly African country that needed the support, money was not the first consideration.
The results of this deployment are evident: civilians have returned to their homes, children are back in school, businesses reopened, mega foreign investments are secured.
To be clear, the work of RDF in countering terrorism in Cabo Delgado has benefitted the Mozambican people and the companies investing in LNG, and supporting that work is not a favor being granted to Rwanda.
Should the RDF Command assess that the work being done by Rwandan Security Forces in Cabo Delgado is not appreciated, they would be right to urge the government to end this bilateral counter-terrorism arrangement and pull out. @mattstephenhill
Eh buretse! A 76% surge in VAT in just 6 months, without raising taxes? Byabintu ni sawa.
Turns out my ka money, your ka money, & asking for an EBM receipt can make things move.
Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t ask for an EBM receipt. Ka receipt ni ngombwa
I wish to remind the @Europarl_EN that it may have jurisdiction over Greenland, Aruba or New Caledonia but it has NO (and will NEVER have) jurisdiction over the Republic of Rwanda, which is a country that recovered its independence from European colonisation more than sixty years ago.
Rwanda will never accept this continued arrogance and interference by European MPs, who think that they are endowed with higher moral values, to the extent that they can even disrespect the Judiciary of an African country.
The Disciplinary Committee Report presented, sparking an important conversation on practical, ethical, and professionalism issues shaping legal practice in Rwanda.
A timely reflection on standards and accountability because integrity remains the foundation of a strong Bar.
Ending the conflict in #drc is simple but requires political clarity.
1. Stop the attempt to deny targeted groups of their rights as citizens.
2. End the threat to #Rwanda by the genocidal #fdrl supported by the drc govt. Why is this difficult to understand?
"Rwanda was not created by human beings. What created Rwanda is the same power that created the entire world. The One who created the world did not then hand over the power to create Rwanda to other human beings. We are created by the same power that created the whole world.
Above all, we want peace and we will strive for it. But anyone who wants peace must also prepare for the opposite of peace. And when the opposite of peace comes, even when it is not what you wanted, what do you do? You put in place the means to withstand it until peace is achieved." President Kagame | Swearing-in Ceremony of Senior Officials.
#Rwanda has secured a USD 4.6 million (Rwf 6.6 billion) contract to design and deploy Jamaica’s Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS), marking one of its most extensive justice digitalisation exports to date. https://t.co/EWTk7nYOvq
