From DC to NY, people see democratic socialists as the candidates who will fight for working people in the face of growing fascism and complacent neoliberalism.
Go @nycDSA ! Excited to have more allies for DC in Congress 🌹
Thank you, Ward 1.
From the beginning, this campaign has been about building something bigger - to not just improve people's lives, but to give working people more power in a system so stacked against us.
It's an honor to be your Democratic nominee for Councilmember.
MDC DSA endorsed candidates @aparnafordc and @Janeese4DC hold commanding leads in their races and look likely to win. We are so proud of their campaigns and even more proud of the hundreds of DSA members that knocked over 100k doors to talk to our community about these candidates
Ward 1, this is it. We have the opportunity to elect a government that will fight for us.
Rank Aparna Raj #1 for the Ward 1 DC Council race by 8pm on 6/16 to lower the cost of housing, childcare, & utilities; fight for workers’ rights; get rid of rats, & protect our communities
Three canvass launches and a tenant march to the polls. Today was our biggest canvass day YET!! 🔥✨
Only 3 days left until Election Day and only ONE weekend day left to canvass.
Join us tomorrow: https://t.co/Oel1bAKBg1
As a candidate, Aparna has raised the bar, and I have no doubt that she will do the same on Council - sharp on policy, dogged on oversight, and deeply rooted in the communities she represents. I can’t wait to vote for her, and I can’t wait to be represented by her.
I trust @aparnafordc bc it didn’t take running for elected office to get her into this fight - she’s been it for years bc of her deep belief that a better world is ours to fight for.
And she knows how to help other people be brave. She organized me into running for leadership of @mdc_dsa, is a huge part of why I am committed to building a better DC, and why my partner and I can see our futures here. I am so incredibly proud to be in this fight with her.
@FeverPotomac@Kurtesque91@SamPKCollins He pointed out a quote from Miguel in the article about shared values and vibes - not a statement on the piece or its timing, just a reflection of statements from the candidate!
Deeply ironic timing of the Washington Informer article coming out the day folks started getting that Rashida mailer. Miguel and Rashida share the same values and vibes folks!
It’s OK to criticize candidates for positions they took. It’s not OK to mislead. This quote is out of context - she also wrote in the same piece “[this] is too focused on understating the harms of a Trump administration and making an equivalence between Biden and Trump.” (1/3)
@luapskid@aparnafordc@rashidaforward1@MiguelWard1_ she just stated facts: Miguel and Rashida crossed endorsed. Rashida sent the mailer. If Miguel doesn’t want to be associated with these kinds of baseless attacks and the spreading of misinformation, maybe he shouldn’t have cross endorsed with the person putting them out.
This is what leadership looks like: @aparnafordc has remained laser focused on running a campaign that speaks to voters across Ward 1 and brings people together from all walks of life who believe a better world is possible 🌹
One more week let’s go!!

One week.
That’s all that stands between us and a government that puts people ahead of corporate interest.
Are you ready for a Ward 1 and a DC we can afford? Rank Aparna Raj #1 for Ward 1 DC Council and join us for our final weekend of canvassing: https://t.co/Oel1bAKBg1
Every DSA elected - regardless of what office they hold - should endorse every chapter-endorsed candidate, whether they are challenging an incumbent or not. It’s a basic step towards becoming (or acting like) a party that doesn’t face the same legal challenges as others.
One of the most beautiful things about @aparnafordc has been the community members walking by our launches, our tables and just getting hype. Minimum once an hour thing today one of our afternoon shift canvassers came and knocked with his kid bc he walked by yesterday.
