@SPOG1952 So to be clear - 7 months after he made the comments he self-reported this to OPA and we are supposed to believe that in that time, he didn't consult with Mike Solan about how to reframe this or contextualize it?
@pptkk1975@Jules31415@Biaggi4NY I get why many people feel that way, I'm just saying that our society is dependent on people being willing to take out loans to afford their education w/ the hope of PSLF. Society wouldn't have enough teachers, prosecutors, etc and other critical public needs wouldn't be met.
@Jules31415@Biaggi4NY I actually am government lawyer. I acknowledge PLSF, and am lucky as a gov lawyer to have that benefit, I'm just pointing out that being a lawyer is not the golden ticket you make it out to be. Loan forgiveness wouldn't be necessary if cost of education were more reasonable.
@JR20000000@Jules31415@Biaggi4NY Most law schools are expensive, especially if you end up having to pay out of state tuition. Unless you come from an affluent family, almost every lawyer I know had to take out law school loans.
@Jules31415@Biaggi4NY Julia - spoken like someone who has no idea what a lawyer's salary actually is. Society is dependent on people who agree to take on loans to do jobs that are a public necessity- prosecutors, civil aid, teachers, social workers. All of which are not paid well
If you’re against abortion, don’t get one.
If you’re against contraception, don’t take any.
If you’re against same-sex relationships, don’t have one.
If you’re against same-sex marriage, don’t marry someone of same gender.
Do not impose your beliefs & religion on all Americans.
Abortion is legal in California.
It will remain that way.
I just signed a bill that makes our state a safe haven for women across the nation.
We will not cooperate with any states that attempt to prosecute women or doctors for receiving or providing reproductive care.
@Sen_JoeManchin @SenatorSinema Now that you know SCOTUS justices outright lied to you re: Roe v. Wade during their confirmation hearings, will you finally agree we need to stack the court?
Overturning Roe v. Wade and denying women the right to control their own bodies is an outrage and in defiance of what the American people want. Democrats must now end the filibuster in the Senate, codify Roe v. Wade, and once again make abortion legal and safe.
Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.
@SouthwestAir@fly2midway not impressed - airport & SW staff not doing a thing about passengers sitting in gate without masks on and SW staff is wearing her mask below her nose and keeps removing it to talk to people. After 18 mos, this is still where we’re at? @FAANews
@worldmarket hold time so far - this is getting ridiculous.... placed an order almost a week ago and initially it said it would be delivered Sunday only for status to change with no TBD and no indication it was even shipped
@johnlegend@Ticketmaster @chrissyteigen If you want to go to #BIGGERLOVETOUR get ready to pay more to the re-seller than John Legend is even getting for them.
@johnlegend@LVE_wines Pre-sale doesn’t matter when all tix are sold out and on StubHub for re-sale while you wait 13 minutes to get into the actual sale. 😭 if there’s going to be a pre-sale, please put in place a mechanism for fans to benefit from it.
