Today, our surgical team performed 10 operations, with cataract surgery being the most common.

Last night, our Accident & Emergency Department received 17 victims following a road traffic crash along the Jinja–Iganga Highway at Kakira.

Our emergency teams responded immediately to provide life-saving care.

Four cases have been successfully completed so far, with the fifth currently in progress in the operating theatre. 🙏🏽

I had a really bad accident and almost died by falling down a waterfall on the River Nile and landing straight onto the rocks.

Unfit to fly home, stuck in Uganda, left for dead 💀

Dr Jamela saved my life. She was one of the very few Ugandan orthopaedic surgeons that just happened to be in the area the day of my accident.

Whilst in hospital for 10 days, I saw the drastic needs. No space and not a single orthopaedic surgeon on site 💔

This is what prompted the construction of this new 64 bed hospital ward which is filled with new doctors, nurses and resident surgeons 🥲

Guess who the surgeons are reporting directly to? Dr Jamela.

So many people said it wouldn’t be possible, the government wouldn’t allow me to build it, it would take years to build, it would cost billions to build ⛔️

These doubters didn’t realise that I am not just a billionaire in Uganda, but also a competent property developer. It took 7 months and cost just over 1 billion shillings only (£300,000 with all costs and exchange rate)

This is the same cost as buying a Lamborghini. Kind of sickening. Nothing wrong with driving one, but perhaps consider building a hospital ward first? 🤷‍♂️

I am a huge advocate for making money, but only when you remember the dark places you came from and use your money to help others, as well as living a nice life of course.

God put me in that pit for a reason, and what the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good 🙏🏻

I am returning home tomorrow, but will never forget this week. A legacy that will live on for centurys 💕

This is the biggest development I’ve ever built from scratch with 64 units and 72,000 st ft - The Samuel Leeds Hospital Ward 🏥

After a horrendous accident in 2018, I had major surgery in Uganda and spent 10 days in hospital here. Many people were being turned away at the doors despite being in fair condition, simply because there was only one hospital in the entire district and there was no space. There were many other problems I saw, and knew God allowed me to break my leg and lose 25% of my blood, because I was meant to see the needs and was being called to make a change.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Uganda came to meet me as we cut the ribbon and opened this new ward.

Thanks to all the builders, architects and project managers who have helped make this happen. It was a huge project, but we did it and will save many lives 🙏🏻
