“If that already feels excessive to you, maybe the problem is not the outrage. Maybe the problem is the instinct to protect the comfort of the institution before the grief of the mother.”

They сame for work. Russia took their passports and sent them to die in Ukraine.
A man from Kenya was promised a plumbing job in Russia. He arrived on a tourist visa, issued through the Russian embassy in Nairobi.
His passport was taken away "for document processing." He was handed papers in a language he didn't speak. He signed them.
Weeks later, he was on the front line in Ukraine.
This is not an isolated case.
Ukraine's Centre for Strategic Communications @StratcomCentre has documented how it works — at scale, across 36 countries. 🧵👇
You know what’s insensitive?
Former Ateneo players being defensive of the institution when people are clamoring for accountability; when the families of the victims are saying they are being kept in the dark. That’s what is insensitive. Nobody asked their piece.
A lot of people say this looks like a video game switching from cutscene to gameplay but I disagree. It feels like the camera pan is going to reveal they've pulled up to McDonald's to collect all The Flash toys that come with a Happy Meal.
Haunting screams of agony.
I am reminded of the fact that when a woman loses her husband, she’s called a widow.
When a child loses their parents, the child is called an orphan.
But when a parent loses their child, there is no name because that is not supposed to happen.

@redbtkn The problem is that jeepneys are used for even long distance trunk routes which ought to be covered by buses
e.g. You have jeepneys, UVs, and buses all plying some variant of PITX/Buendia to Fairview via Taft, Quezon, and C'wealth Avs. It should all be high capacity buses.
Yk at first you do the 6-7 ironically to relate to the kids...then you get addicted to it. Every time someone says those numbers in that order your arms can't help themselves. They just do it. Pope Bob is not immune to this.
Professional graphic designer here!
The most interesting part of the CMYK colour system is its very origin. As you may know, RGB stands for "Red Green Blue", while CMYK stands for "Cyan Magenta Yellow and Kane". This last one was added due to Kane Parsons, who is the youngest dir
It's really funny revisiting the Henry Stickmin collection because this game uses so many of the same sound effects that are used in Among Us that it feels like a jumpscare every time you hear one
I love this guy very deeply but my favourite detail is when he reveals that for his day job he’s a high school science teacher. Imagine him trying to get through the Krebs cycle so you distract him by asking him about the Dreyfus affair and he’s just going off for 20-30 minutes
Something that always gets me when I see an old pet photo:
Photographs weren’t cheap back then. You couldn’t just take your phone and snap a picture. For most, photographs were an indulgence. Something for special occasions
These cats were *loved*
When asked on their overlapping tour dates and Bad Bunny’s sold-out concert in the same city, Pope Leo replied:
“If [young people] are confronted with the question ‘Do you want to go see Bad Bunny or see the pope?’ I think many will go to see Bad Bunny.”
toby fox talks like a translated famitsu interview. its always some shit like “Ah… it’s rather ominous, isn’t it? [Laughs] Let’s all think wonderful things instead!”
