Day 5 of Field Week! We went to Mount Batten on a well rainy day to find trends in #gastropod diversity in relation to shore height and rock pool size. We also found some amazing starfish, gobies and crabs. Great day to end the field week! #plymbio

Day 3 of field week: look at @LeilaScheltema’s excitement as we identified species from ROV stills. Who knew sitting inside on a computer could actually be fun! #plymbio

Day 3 of MBO field week! Today we stayed at the Marine Station and observed #ROV footage of #benthic organisms near Eddystone Lighthouse. Each pair observed 2 still images and identified the species seen. We identified some organisms such as the #Echinus #estulentus! #plymbio

Day 3, we identified the species of ROV footage using a species catalog as well as Collins field guide to the British coastal wildlife! Look we found one!! #plymbio @emyirving

Aaand 2nd day of field week. Today was a cracking day for checking out the plankton of Plymouth Sound! We used a mesh plankton net to collect samples from different points and depths, followed by a microscopic look at what we found. I personally loved the ‘cute’ barnacle larvae!

First day of field week! Started the week off with a bang, using CTD to take water samples in the wonderful Plymouth Sound. Back at the Marine Station, we used a sediment filtration device and tried to get to grips with charts. Awesome start! #plymbio
