@bebesunshine First response counterbalance. Just in case. If there weren't any that would be an open invitation for current or future incursion. I'm much more calm with it than without.
@RetroTechChris@ToxinMortalis It's "contagious". Inserting a good disk into a broken (misaligned r/w heads) drive it would tear/crease the disk's internal film. Newly damaged disk plugged into a healthy drive, the torn film would physically hook onto the new drive's heads and rip them out of alignment.
@Eviltrkeyslice@verbose5432@GameRobyn It happend to me once. I haven't changed a mbo but during years upgraded from one hdd to another then sdd, then ram upgrade and finally cpu. CPU triggered it. I couldn't reactivate it online, had to use phone.
@vtchakarova Scenario I see is Russia making a strike on EU/NATO country that it will deny. Enough over a threshold that must provoke response and it will be used as a reason for mobilisation. Units will still be used in UA. EU is mostly safe until ru troops are tied in UA.
@neetintel I only see an active ship de-ballasting to decrease its draft and it's showing its light water line (light draft). It's already overdue on shipyard maintenance.
@Mylovanov Balloon taxi is mostly invisible to radar. Radar waves pass straight through a balloon envelope without bouncing. Mil. radars use Doppler processing to filter out slow or stationary objects to keep the screen clear. Their velocity sits below the radar's speed threshold settings.
@66mhzBrain You can use the best parts in the machines that could use them, lowest shelf parts combine into full systems for sale, low value space wasters and multi spares sell, maybe in bulk to move fast. Maybe, use money and freed space to buy at least one new item you always wanted.
@RaraferCardovic Everything is (to be interpreted by public as) an exercise until something happens. For example, if there's a search for sub it will still be an exercise if they found it and flash it with sonars until it leaves the area. It will stop being exercise if sub pulls the trigger.
@genzuki@japanretrogame I wouldn't use NAND for long term cold storage. Some time ago server grade flash drives had a 3 months guaranteed data retention and consumer 1 year. Some sources talked theoretical retention for HDDs as 40 years. But I doubt any modern HDD would survive even close to that.
@genzuki@kachiku_shiro SLC cashe (1 bit per cell) is not problematic as NAND set in this way has much higher p/e cycles than same NAND set as TLC/QLC but you lose a huge % of drive capacity (3x less vs TLC). Dram is just a read/write cashe and for storing lookup table while turned on.
@Gary_Starlorn@abugsvoice@GardenerFliss You get calories from grains, we get essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds which rely on bees (35% of global agricultural production volume, 75% of crop types, nearly 90% of wild plants). More important then you Gary
