PFOS, PFOA, and PFNA accumulated in placenta across gestation.
PFOA accumulated more in placentas with male fetuses compared to female fetuses. https://t.co/aulzfcX758
Great job to @elonuniversity's Kelsey Bitting for finding a way to educate locals about #water#pollution in the Haw River by engaging her class!
Read the article below to find out more about how her class is making a difference.

Yes! We love that @Lowes is taking responsibility for the health of their customers and making strides to stop the spread of #PFAS!
Let’s hope other popular retailers will follow suit in banning #foreverchemicals in their products.
Big news! @Lowes has banned the sale of fabric protectors that contain toxic #PFAS chemicals in its stores.
The commitment follows company action on carpets and rugs treated w/ PFAS.

Big #PFAS news in the Biden budget proposal: $75M to accelerate PFAS toxicity studies and to designate PFAS as hazardous substances. https://t.co/r7PYkSl5mZ A big change from the other guy. https://t.co/FfLhNiQM1H (only $6M and no detail)
#PFAS in rainwater...
A rainwater sampling project using mass spectrometry identified 17 different types of PFAS across seven sites in the Ohio-Indiana region.
"We saw PFAS everywhere," said chemist Jennifer Faust of the College of Wooster in Ohio. https://t.co/ZEHgo5YIYs
#DarkWatersMovie is such a great place to begin gaining knowledge of #pfas because it takes you right to the beginning of the problem!
Such a good, entertaining way to begin to educate ourselves!
The removal of PFAS from products and store shelves is essential in the battle to protect public health from these toxic chemicals.
At the same time, manufacturers must ensure that #PFAS chemicals are not replaced wi th other hazardous substances.
These “forever chemicals” often travel through water, meaning they are part of the water cycle. Contaminated water leaks into the ocean affecting plants and fish. Those fish are eaten by seals, and the seals are eaten by polars bears.
As they’re man made, you might be quick to assume that #PFAS#contamination is limited to areas where #wildlife constantly interacts with human influence.
Unfortunately, that’s far from the case as it’s been found that PFAS have effected #polarbears in the Arctic Ocean
National Teflon Day? It's the chemical industry's day to celebrate the first #PFAS.
Safer States will instead celebrate the #StatesInTheLead that are finding new ways to hold these polluters accountable and protect communities from toxic chemicals. 👏

As of January 2021, #PFAS contaminates more than 2,300 locations in 49 states.

Plant trees and wait one hundred plus years to (maybe) help clean up #PFAS contamination?? “We’re not interested in a community park... We want the contaminated soil removed. We want the contaminated groundwater remediated and cleaned up."
