I have written to High Representative @kajakallas regarding recent statements by a Serbian government minister advocating ethnic cleansing.

Upholding European values requires a clear and principled response whenever rhetoric that glorifies war crimes or ethnic cleansing emerges.

A Serbian Government minister has publicly called for the ethnic cleansing of Albanians from Kosova. Such rhetoric glorifies war crimes, threatens regional stability, and is utterly incompatible with European values as well as European future.

Silence is not an option. Nor are weak replies.

The highest levels of EU leadership must respond with clear public condemnation, remind Serbia of its obligations, and ensure that such conduct carries consequences in its accession process.

Kosova remains committed to democracy, a multi-ethnic society, reconciliation based on truth and justice, and European future. Serbia must choose that path too.

Gradual integration should bring us closer to membership, step by step. Security is increasingly part of that path — a space where future members can already contribute.

Kosova’s case is on the record: progress across 35 areas, full CFSP alignment and the highest public support for EU membership in the region.

Today, we mourn the passing of Congressman Eliot Engel, one of the greatest friends of Kosova.

Among the earliest and strongest voices in the U.S. Congress, he spoke out against Milosevic’s genocidal regime and championed international intervention when it mattered most.

As co-founder of the Albanian Issues Caucus in 1989, he played a key role in shaping sustained U.S. engagement with Kosova.

His legacy lives on in our freedom.

Joined Foreign Ministers from over 40 countries in today’s high-level call on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, initiated and chaired by UK Foreign Secretary @YvetteCooperMP.

Disruptions in the Strait are not confined to the region; they affect global supply chains, energy markets and economic stability, including in countries like ours.

Kosova reaffirms its commitment to freedom of navigation and the protection of civilian shipping and we condemn Iran's attacks that have undermined these principles.

In line with our partners, I join in calling for the safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.

A historic night in Bratislava yesterday, as Kosova advances to the final of the World Cup Qualifier Playoffs. ⚽️

I thank the Slovak authorities for the excellent hospitality and the high level of security ensured throughout the match. We deeply appreciate the professionalism and care shown to our delegation and supporters.

Sport brings us together, and yesterday was a great example of that.

Today marks 27 years since the launch of Operation Allied Force, when @NATO acted to stop the ethnic cleansing carried out by Milošević’s genocidal regime in Kosova.

It was also a defining moment of recognition: the efforts of the KLA and the people of Kosova were affirmed internationally as a just struggle to defend freedom, life, human rights, and democracy.

Almost three decades after, as Kosova continues to advance toward its rightful place in NATO and towards contributing to the security of the Euro-Atlantic community, we remember this day with deep gratitude to our allies.

The partnership between Kosova and NATO is built on shared values and continues to guide our path forward.

Kosova stands with the United States in efforts to deter regimes that threaten international peace and security. For decades the Iranian regime has oppressed its own people, destabilized the region, and supported actions that undermine global stability.
