“Heart health disparities have existed for a long time,” said @TerrisKing4
“Too often when African Americans of any income come in, grocery stores move out.
So we don’t have access to healthy food, sometimes we don’t have access to primary care doctors, sometimes we don’t have access to education. We’re all working to lower costs, increase trust, but most importantly save lives.”
At engAGE with Heart, we utilize community-driven initiatives and education to empower individuals to take charge of their heart health. Let's build a healthier Baltimore, together.
February is American Heart Month, and a healthy heart is supported by a healthy lifestyle. From choosing nutritious foods to staying active, small lifestyle changes make a big impact on our hearts.
Happy National Wear Red Day from engAGE with Heart! Join us in wearing red this February to raise awareness about heart disease–Baltimore City’s leading cause of death. Together, we can make a bold statement and inspire each other to pursue heart healthy activities.
engAGE with Heart works with Baltimore’s local leaders, faith-based organizations, non-profits, and members of the community to meet communities where they are and combat the impacts of heart disease on the city.
