Everything Israelis say is racist. Being Israeli is racist. Surviving the twentieth century in the eastern hemisphere is, if you’re a Jew, a vaguely racist affront. This rhetorical game is getting tiresome.

I respect Daoud, in the sense that I believe he believes what he says, and that his mistakes and assumptions are shared by certain Palestinian elites whose views actually matter to the future of my children. So unlike the general mob, he deserves an answer.

Albanese is not “relieved” at the hostage “release” - a vile word meant to avoid acknowledging it was a rescue.

How do I know?

Because for eight months she has parroted Hamas propaganda, including in this very post reasserting the horrific idea that there was a real hostage release available on October 8 that we Israelis, in our bottomless evil, rejected. Her every comment and statement parrots Hamas terminology, Hamas numbers, the Hamas argument shared by some progressives that there is no legal right to fight Hamas - the whole worldview, hook, line and sinker.

And there’s the rub. You cannot hope and strive for the Hamas strategy to work and still feel “relief” at the hostages’ rescue. Not unless you’re an idiot. @FranceskAlbs is many things, but she’s not an idiot.

No, her barest minimal sop to the hostages is political cover for yet another statement that in every word that follows continues to defend and advance the Hamas strategy - that in fact minimizes the hostage-taking (by blaming it on Israelis) almost immediately after expressing “relief” at their “release.”

So forgive me my skepticism that she’s even the slightest bit “relieved.”

Now tell me again how racist we all are, because why not.
