So we’re doing another round of JuniorDevSG Mentoring again. This round we’re only doing Career Mentoring. Period is between June to November 2024. More info in the LinkTree below:

Just saw a tutorial that uses <button> to create a, well, "ToggleButton," despite the fact that it's actually an on/off switch and therefore should be a checkbox.
FE developers, don't do this. Please learn proper, semantic, accessible HTML before attempting any framework.
Our vision: That every junior developer will be empowered with the knowledge and skills needed for career progression; and help their peers to level-up.
Find out more about how you can participate in our community as a Mentor or Mentee today: https://t.co/ZwDszJ6Drk
We feel that doing this with a consistent group and with a regular cadence would provide a safe zone for more meaningful & deeper sharing, and for the group to help each other in a sustainable manner.

Coding track mentees have the opportunity to build a code project with guidance from a mentor. Mentees bring the idea and does the actual coding while the mentors share their thought process in coming up with architecture decisions and code design. https://t.co/ZwDszJ6Drk
Career Mentoring Track will gather at the same venue every 3 weeks for the mentoring sessions. Each session will start with a sharing by the mentors on a topic that was suggested & voted on by everyone, followed by group activities & discussions. https://t.co/ZwDszJ6Drk
"I learnt a lot about navigating the tech industry from the mentors, and made new friends along the way. Would recommend new developers join this program!"
Andreas Han, Batch 3 Mentee

"The activities are not only beneficial to the junior devs, but it’s also a good opportunity for the mentors to explore coaching, mentoring and sharing skills, while re-contributing to the dev community. I also learnt a lot from other mentors. I highly recommend it." - Ng Yu Lian
Testimonial from Ng Yu Lian, Batch 3 Mentor: "I found that JDSG provides a local platform for all the participants to exchange learning resources, career experiences with other peers and senior developers, through coaching sessions and chat spaces."
The JuniorDevSG Mentoring program is back with Batch 4 (Aug - Dec 2023). More details here: https://t.co/B4wvYo41Lx. Sign up forms here: https://t.co/ZwDszJ7bgS (closing date: 3 July)
Finally given a talk on my DOS ChatGPT client at @JuniorDevSG !
Having an excuse to talk about retrocomputing, history of IBM PC, DOS/Windows, DOS code pages is not something one can do everyday. 😀
