The Kantishna River in Alaska is Earth art. Just look at those scroll bars, chute channels, tie channels, point bars, mid-channel bars, pretty much any wandering river feature you might want to admire 😍 #meandermonday#but2dayslate
🚨 New Paper Alert!🚨: Excited to share my latest work in @Nature on river avulsions—catastrophic shifts in river courses that threaten millions worldwide. We've uncovered new rules that govern when and where avulsions occur. https://t.co/BFxd5Sp0jV

Wow this is an amazing episode, especially at the start of pride month! I felt all the happy and sad gay feelings! Especially as a fellow “female-female pair bonded vertebrate with offspring” myself. Definitely give it a listen. #QueerIsNatural 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
How a study about seagulls from the 1970s rocked our understanding of what’s natural in animals... and in us. Listen to @lmillernpr tell the story here: https://t.co/kBAInjlvRd

@spacerockgeek Good thoughts, thanks Clare! What iPad annotation program were you using? Strabo? I’m behind the curve moving from paper to digital field notes…
I’m trying to decide if I should get a nice camera for upcoming field work but my iPhone 14 camera is nice already so I don’t know if it’s worth the money. Let me know if you have any strong opinions!
We invite graduate students to apply for a 9-day (May 30-June 7), international river sciences field course in Colombia, Rivers of the Andes Field Training (RAFT). All travel expenses for US students are funded by @NSF! Course website: https://t.co/mVN0hECkSt
@trans_icon_mika We went in late May a couple years ago and it was awesome!! The trillium was out in full force and the sand flies weren’t too bad yet. Had one chilly night (down in the 40s maybe?) but overall great trip. Not too crowded that time of year either.
