Delighted to see this special coral tooth fungi in #EppingForest.

It has rarely been recorded here in the last 15 years. This particular fungi is generally found on beech trees. Our wonderful range of fungi is one of the reasons much of the woodland is designated as SSSI/SAC.

A perfect example of the dark diamond fissures found at the base of Silver Birch grandees.

Underneath a delicate fern frond, with luck, you may find precisely formed Sori.
Unlike seed plants ferns reproduce from spores which gather in these clusters, ripening, ready for release.
