As a doctor I am very uncomfortable with patients having to ask for "exemption from having a treatment". My role is not to force someone to have a treatment.Exemption just typifies how wrong this all is. If someone doesn't want the flu jab, thats the end of it. What are we doing?
The Bible is more communal than individual.
Jesus teaches us to pray "Our Father" not "My Father."
Paul uses the phrase, "our Lord" 53 times, & "my Lord" only 1 time.
"Jesus is my personal savior" is not found in Scripture.
We are the people of God.
We belong to each other.
I was really upset that homeless people did not have access to the $1,400 stimulus check.
I just found this out. If you are homeless, you can go to a tax return office where they will file something called EIP return. They will put the money on a debit card after.
Retweet.!
I told @eprettig that the Pens play the Caps again today at 5:00PM and I believe it’s the first time that she hasn’t chanted “C-A-P-S Caps, Caps, Caps.” She’s not even a Caps fan, she just does it to piss me off...so...we are making progress folks!!
I deeply believe Christ calls us to unity & I so want it. But calls to unity without serious regard for what broke us to pieces is like pouring fresh concrete over a collapsed bridge. Someone recently tweeted me this page out of Chasing Vines. These aren’t answers. Just thoughts.
“We do not draw people to Christ by loudly discrediting what they believe, by telling them how wrong they are and how right we are, but by showing them a light that is so lovely that they want with all their hearts to know the source of it.”
—Madeleine L’Engle
“It just asked me if I’m a robot, I think we’re tweeting too much. I have to verify I’m a human.” -My husband, while live tweeting The Bachelorette @BachelorABC@SuperBachBros
We no longer need to engage in hypothetical "what ifs."
White protestors, armed with rifles, aggressively confront the police to defend their right to a speedy haircut.
Nothing.
Unarmed Black protestors congregating at the site of a police murder.
Tear gas and riot police
“I see no color” is not the goal.
“I see your color and I honor you. I value your input. I will be educated about your lived experiences. I will work against the racism that harms you. You are beautiful. Tell me how to do better.”
... That’s the goal.
