"You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness and fever with it."
Today @GoogleResearch is launching Deep Review — an agentic system designed to stress-test manuscripts, design docs, and complex proposals before submission or publication. After pilot partnerships analyzing over 15,000 research papers, we’re making Deep Review globally accessible to help researchers, engineers, and professionals bring structured critique to their daily workflows.
Israel is starving ONE MILLION PEOPLE in Gaza and spraying ONE MILLION PEOPLE in Lebanon with banned phosphorus while addressing the UN General Assembly about peace and international law.
Why doesn't the media talk about Sudan?
Sudan is bleeding. Sudanese women face drones by day and rape by night—UN confirms 800+ victims. Tens of thousands killed, millions displaced, millions pushed into famine, children died from malnutrition.
Don't be indifferent to Sudan.
On July 25, we hacked OpenAI.
Two bugs let us take over ChatGPT/Codex accounts of OpenAI employees (+some unaffiliated users) and reach connected services: Outlook, Slack, GitHub, etc.
We proved it with a PR in OpenAI’s internal codebase . It took us <72h. 🧵
They used Opus 5 to pull off the hack. It appears they had access to the loosened cyber-guardrail version of Opus. They successfully accessed the OAI internal monorepo. The question that will be asked is, if these three guys can pull this off, what can a nation state do.
We are officially entering “Global Water Bankruptcy”.
The UN has announced that we will start running out of clean water (drinking, cooking, showering, dishes, laundry, etc.) in the next few years.
Water won't always be free. When clean water becomes scarce, it will be privatized, priced, and controlled. You will pay for it. And those who can't pay won't survive.
Data centers don’t actually need water. Data centers need cooling system and they are using water because it’s the most cheapest way to do it. Water should be for people before profits.
The world must remember that we live in a society, not an economy.
Long before AI, we accustomed ourselves to signing away our humanity in the name of convenience.
Resisting our dependence on these machines is how we stay human.
Resisting these companies is partially how we save humanity.
PS. This tweet was not written with AI.
friends are regularly surprised when i say i don’t think math is (yet) “solved,” so in the wake of the ns result i figured i’d explain this take a bit more widely.
first, this is massively impressive and clearly an example of AI being, in some respects, far more powerful than the human mind. the team deserves huge praise for attempting and succeeding at this. i’d love to read a technical report on the project (one can always hope :)
but second, here again we ended up with a counterexample rather than a full proof: option C won the NS problem by proving the conjecture false (which was one valid way to solve the problem for sure)
notice a pattern in many of the recent frontier results in ai for math? a striking number involve counterexamples or finding a needle in a haystack.
now don’t get me wrong: this is extraordinarily hard and commendable. but it is only one aspect of mathematicians’ work.
Math is also about:
- finding deep, general mathematical understanding and explanations within proofs
- revisiting proven results to find more « elegant » proofs
- proposing new conjectures and hypotheses that might open « fruitful » directions
- taking the leap of faith of proposing entirely new, « exciting » research programs that may take decades to bear fruit
you may say these are simply further increments on the same intelligence scale, and perhaps point 2 above is already within the reach of current models. possibly
but you could also see this string of results as an extraordinarily powerful, massively parallel extension of search: explore the haystack, find the needle i.e. the counterexample that breaks the conjecture.
that would already be remarkable. but it would still leave open whether models understand the words I emphasized above: « elegant », « fruitful », « exciting ».
as tristan put it in his brief report: “the first llm generated proof levent sent me was the most horrendous i have ever read.”
despite their formidable technical abilities, models still seem to lack something mathematicians rely on constantly: a type of mathematical taste. the ability to distinguish a beautiful argument from a merely valid one, a fertile idea from a sterile one.
i’d be very curious to ask gpt or claude what they think of the result they just proved. do they find it elegant? if they ignore all the human noise about it on the web and history of math, do they appreciate the result and the path to it more than other proofs?
my suspicion is that, outside of the human knowledge that this is an important millennium prize problem, it may not 100% register it as fundamentally different from thousands of other proofs.
or, more intriguingly, perhaps the beauty they find in mathematics is actually alien to our own sense of mathematical beauty, some « horrendous » proof to us might be deeply satisfying to them…
all this to say that we might have significant progress to make in ai for math before declaring the field “solved,” (as too many are posting).
in the meantime, ai will be an extraordinary collaborator for mathematicians. i just hope access to these tools be as widely shared as possible (so that you don’t need a Leven or Sebastien working in a big lab to help you), and that companies stop using mathematics primarily as a demonstration of prowess in their private race.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

GPT-6 Astra is here.
We hope it will begin to enable a new generation of entrepreneurship, scientific discovery, and building.
We believe it is the best model in the world for computer use, professional work, science, coding, cybersecurity, and more.
It took us some extra time to ensure that we could meet the safety and alignment standards required for this capability level, but we think you’ll find it worth the wait.

If the Muslims had been a single, united hand, which is clenching its fist with firm resolve, would the nation of #Palestine have been left so defenseless in this way and subjected to the oppression and crimes of the occupiers?
Prime Minister @andyburnham and Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband : how much longer will Britain remain silent?
For three years the father of my two sons, and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been brutally penalised by his political opponents, in a personal vendetta by Army Chief, Asim Munir, which according to the UN, amounts to torture and which is now taking a potentially fatal toll on his physical and mental health.
He has endured 3 years of solitary confinement. For nearly ten months now his family has been denied contact with him. He has been deprived of the most basic human contact, denied access to books, lawyers and doctors.
The international human-rights standards are unequivocal. Under the UN’s Nelson Mandela Rules, solitary confinement lasting more than 15 consecutive days is prohibited and amounts to torture.
He has endured this treatment not for 15 days, but for three years.
Pakistan’s own Supreme Court has now intervened: ordering comprehensive medical treatment, access to his personal doctor, regular family visits and twice-weekly calls with his sons.
Yet those orders are being defied.
This is no longer simply a Pakistani political matter. It is a human-rights emergency.
He has deep and lifelong ties to Britain. He studied at Oxford University, captained Oxford University cricket and spent years playing county cricket in England. His relationship with this country stretches back more than half a century. His charitable activities were internationally recognised, and include building the only free cancer hospital in Pakistan as well as a university.
His sons, my two boys, Sulaiman and Kasim, are British citizens. They have been forced to watch their father’s health decline from thousands of miles away, prevented from visiting him, denied visas, publicly threatened by government officials with arrest themselves, and even denied court-mandated regular phone calls.
I have repeatedly appealed to the UK government to intervene. Purported attempts at back channelling have evidently failed. The previous Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy informed me in writing that Britain would not intervene if my sons, British citizens, are arrested when they travel to Pakistan to visit their father.
@FCDOGovUK: Britain must now speak out publicly and unequivocally. Demand that Pakistan comply with its own Supreme Court; restore Imran Khan’s medical access, his right to see his family, end his prolonged isolation and uphold his fundamental human rights.
Pakistan is a Commonwealth country. Britain has a long and proud tradition of standing against arbitrary detention, inhumane treatment and the denial of fundamental rights. Those principles mean very little if we invoke them only selectively and neglect them when inconvenient.
This an appeal to the new Burnham government to please now do the right thing.
