It's giving flight attendant weigh-ins from the 1960s.
"...service members who receive tickets to the big fighting event on the South Lawn must meet a waist-to-height ratio of less than 0.55..."

@CycleJargon@universalhub It's interesting because it seems like around the time we were kids the playgrounds all shifted to "safer" materials that wouldn't burn, weren't too high, etc.
These more modern playgrounds seem so much more interesting, unique, and engaging.
@surrealjones@christofspieler I lived in Detroit/Hamtramck and remember the tunnel bus from @Transit_Windsor.
I always wondered why @RideDDOT or @smartbusorg didn't do the same. Though I only knew of Canadians crossing to the US for work, and no Americans crossing to Canada for the same.
@BOS311 this demolition company has been parking on the sidewalk, blocking both the bus stop and sidewalk, repeatedly over the past two weeks. This is at Shelby St and Lexington St in Eastie. They also damaged the street sign in front of the house. 🤷♂️
@3rdDegreeBurns @bikepedantic Tear it down and make all the cars on Memorial Dr go through the rotary instead. Slow the traffic!
Then it's safe to put the Magazine St pedestrian bridge at grade and signalize it.
Then the REAL opportunity becomes extra space from eliminating the on/off-ramps to the overpass.
Congrats to our Columbus Ave Bus Lanes project - a finalist in @StreetsblogUSA nationwide contest for America’s Best Bus Stops. The first center-running bus lane in New England, Columbus Ave is changing the face of public transit.

@BoilerJacket14 @chrisarvinsf@ofsevit Pretty good! Similar (nominally) to what we saw on Columbus Ave for round trips, I believe, based on the TransitMatters analysis.
@3rdDegreeBurns @bikepedantic Thanks! I'm so proud of this project... all the tantrums I threw seem justified when I see these stories. LOL
A @StreetsBoston survey found a majority of respondents "acknowledged the design works as-is," which speaks to our attention to detail & refusal to compromise design.
@ofsevit This is a stated goal of @BostonPlans PLAN: Nubian Square project:
"...this study will be used to develop an implementation plan to mobilize development on publicly-owned parcels."

@CycleHappiness @StreetsblogMASS I believe the concept plan that was presented at the public meeting before the pandemic preserved that strip with the trees as-is.
@iBikeCommute @jlocantore I'm not familiar with the Denver project but when I first saw the cost I did think it was high.
The MBTA projects are designed to work with existing buses (right-side doors, same livery, etc.), so if the Denver project needs specialized buses that could really increase costs.
@iBikeCommute@CalebGovoruhk@FortPointer@MBTA@BostonBTD Planning (design and public engagement) started around August 2019, though it was identified in earlier planning studies.
Just over two years from planning to operations... pretty good!
