“I just graduated kindergarten and I know dirty cars make bad air and causes climate change. Cars should have batteries with wind and solar. Solar is the best of them all!” - 6 yr old Nathan from DC🌞

Last time we were this close to a shooting was Zoolights 2020. We ran from the sound of shots with a two year old and baby in a stroller, and hid behind an apartment building near the trash cans.
Shooting at 14th and U tonight, shortly after we left that block for a Father’s Day dinner. Four people shot, one dead. A juvenile. It’s sickening
For our family I worry far more about gun and traffic violence than I do about Covid.
Officer Tommy embodies the values of our community and is a wonderful role model for our kids. I feel so blessed to have Tommy looking after Nathan + his school buds every day they go to @RossESDC.
Thanks @johnrmeans + @AncMeg for facilitating!
The highlight of my year joining the @ANC2B meeting celebrating Officer Tommy and sharing his commendation from @MayorBowser@DDOTDC for 15 years of dedication to #safestreets at @RossESDC in Dupont Circle. Thanks @AncMeg for facilitating.
NEWS: DC just added homelessness as a protected class to DC's overarching human rights legislation.
This took years of work. Thank you to @WashingtonPffc for leading the charge and thank you @RobertWhite_DC for getting it across the finish line.
New crosswalk striping and double backed stop signs. Appreciate these first steps to safer streets near @RossESDC@ANC2B. Need to get the street safety and #saferoutestoachool bills passed into law to see faster, bigger change across DC. @DDOTDC@councilofdc
Big day! #MarshallPlanForMoms just released our report on the Business Case for Child Care, and announced a new National Business Coalition for Child Care with leaders from across industries.

Major, exciting news! I’m thrilled that @MavenWomen and #TheFashionConnection are early endorsers of the FABRIC Act.
I have worked in advocacy and sustainability for over a decade, and I’ve never felt more momentum than this moment.

As @reshmasaujani shared, women have worked hard to be in the workforce. Since they got a taste of in during WWII they haven’t wanted to give it up. My grandmothers loved working!
This is another ginormous step backwards for women’s workforce participation, which hurts us all.
There is nothing “pro-life” or “pro-mom” about overturning #RoeVWade. If they really cared about moms and our children they would make it easier to access abortion care and they’d bring paid leave and affordable child care to the U.S. They’d support a #MarshallPlanForMoms.
Four years of Trump. Then lockdowns and childcare closing, which didn’t happen in many other countries and whose effects were disproportionately borne by mothers. Now this. (4/4)
I’ve Roe and personally, I don’t think it’s the best legal reasoning. However, there has to be a better way forward than this semi-Handmaid’s Tale. (3/4)
I’ve had friends with desperately wanted pregnancies that weren’t viable have their terminations classified as “abortions”.
The pandemic already set women back to the 1980s. This is a step much, much further. (2/4)
My pregnancies were planned, in my 30s, after marriage of many years, when we had financial resources. Even w/ stability I needed info. and options. I needed to know I could terminate if things were not looking good, and info. to help me understand if that were the case. (1/4)
