Since some time now, I have seen the golden path for my life. It came suddenly, after a profound period of suffering. For reasons unknown to me, the manual of life has somehow fallen into my hands, and I can see every closed door that can be opened with ease. There is this big open window right now to make a tremendous amount of money, which can be used to fund one’s own bigger projects.

As model capability rises and local inference becomes more accessible, the Goldilocks zone of self-funding has been entered.

Not for everyone (we are somewhere at the outer border right now, i.e. it‘s still too cold), but for many.

As I‘ve been realizing this over the past few months, I‘ve been thinking about how this shift will eventually end. Basically, what will the structure look like when it stops forming and finalizes its form.

In plain words: What will the way of creating software and funding it look like, when one individual will be able to run models much more capable than current frontier models locally?

All I see is, is that there won‘t be much reliance on venture capital anymore.

A new era might begin, where solo developers will work on and successfully launch projects so huge in their scale, that even the most up-to-date individuals will have a hard time to digest the enormity of that one individual’s creation.

It is extremely hard for our mind to accept the fact, that one person can create an output, that surpasses the average human output.

That is why people who are about to venture into a field of low average output, are always getting doubted right at the beginning of their voyage (singing, acting, streaming, writing, sport, crafting, entrepreneuring).

Everyone knows about this pattern, as everyone has either experienced it themselves or doubted someone else before - most likely both in some way.

Today, this potential output has already become undeterminable.
