@hannahsherrill8 I completely agree. I thought that a majority of the novels this semester dealt with teenagers changing in order to discover who they truly are inside.
I like how in "The Abyss Surrounds Us", Cas and Swift resolve to refrain from having a romantic relationship so long as Cas is a prisoner and Swift is the captor/guard, because they both realize the incompatibility of a power imbalance relationship. #1102girlhood
Going on from my last tweet, I guess in "The Abyss Surrounds Us" , the world is more focused on class and social differences rather than gender, race, and sexual orientation.

It's interesting how in "The Abyss Surrounds Us" the boundaries of the world have been changed because of flooding. I feel like this has an interesting effect on diversity in the story. #1102girlhood
So I feel that I have a pretty good grasp of my History Girl: Anne Frank. I just need some input on a creative fictional/nonfictional story. Anyone have any ideas? #1102girlhood
I like how in episode 7, Elena struggles to voice her sexuality and then in episode 10, I admired the beautiful moment of self-acceptance and joy when she could share her identity with her mom.

I also loved in episode 7 how in explored relationships of the modern teenage girl. I especially loved how the Sweet/Vicious flipped the roles here, with Evan fulfilling the stereotypical female role in the relationship. being all clingy. #1102girlhood
#1102girlhood The first episode of Sweet/Vicious was very touching in that it mentioned sad truths. The rape scenario and the aftermath that occurred in the episode is the sad truth that women endure today.
Began reading Anne Frank The Diary of a Young Girl for my History Girl Project. If anyone has any other good books or sources that provide incite into Anne Frank's life, please comment! #1102girlhood
