Please, please, please. There is no magic. There is no 1 true diet to rule them all. There is just a world with a food environment that makes it hard to eat healthy, and a bunch of unscrupulous people ready to make a buck selling miracles. Don't waste your money.
Can I be honest? If I have to make my pizza crust out of cauliflower,
I better save more than 60 calories. I better save like 6,000 calories. If you eat cauliflower pizza you should automatically get amazing abs. Like first bite.
"Free" is a joke. @weightwatchers and @oprah stand to profit astronomically for decades to come from capitalizing on body shame to lure teens into a lifelong battle with their bodies. WE SEE YOU. #WakeUpWeightWatchers
Ugg ... the involuntary sound that came out of my mouth when I heard about @WeightWatchers new promotion targeting teenagers. If the program truly worked this would be a terrible business strategy! #WakeUpWeightWatchers
Not everyone who diets will develop an eating disorder, but almost everyone who has an eating disorder has been on a diet. Dieting, over evaluation of body, & wt talk are biggest risk factors in ED development. @WeightWatchers#WakeUpWeightWatchers
If @WeightWatchers worked they'd no longer exist. 95% of #weightloss attempts fail...people end up back & back again. It is not the #diet failing them, it's our society and #dietculture failing them into thinking they're doing something worthy of their time #WakeUpWeightWatchers
Dieting disconnects people from their bodies and inner wisdom. Setting up teens with free @WeightWatchers is wholly damaging. Wake up, @Oprah, you are hurting or most vulnerable.
#WakeUpWeightWatchers
Diets don't work. The vast majority of people who lose weight regain it all (and usually more) in 2 to 5 years. WW itself has admitted that cycle is a component of their business model. Loyal customers that come back each time the diet fails them #WakeUpWeightWatchers
“Weight Watchers expects the recruitment tactic could make young customers loyal for years.” @WeightWatchers is interested in converting teens to a lifetime of dieting. The $1.7 billion publicly-traded company is driven by growth, not health. #WakeUpWeightWatchers@oprah
Targeting teens is unethical, but @WeightWatchers knows they'll have customers 4 life b/c #diets don't work. 95% of lost weight will be regained w/in 2-5 yrs. Teens will blame themselves, not the diet. We should boost their self-esteem not break it down. #WakeUpWeightWatchers https://t.co/0oVA8HH4NA
Weight Watchers cannot get away with exploiting teens' body image issues for the sake of securing life-long customers to churn out money in their massive diet scheme. #WakeUpWeightWatchers@WeightWatchers
#WakeUpWeightWatchers - teens are at a vulnerable age for growth and development and are easily influenced by social pressures. Marketing weight loss and restriction to them is dangerous and irresponsible. This initiative is NOT helpful! @WeightWatchers@Oprah
@WeightWatchers your business relies on diet failure & vulnerability. I'm not interested in "success stories" when I hear heartbreak & misery every single day. Take it elsewhere. Better yet, ditch your teen campaign 👎👎👎👎👎 #wakeupweightwatchers
The link between dieting & #eatingdisorders is clear and we are concerned about the new @WeightWatchers promotion for teens. Our voices are being heard. They have reached out to us. Stay tuned for updates. #WakeUpWeightWatchers
